Igor Tchetuev was born in Sebastopol (Ukraine) in 1980 and won at the age of 14 the Grand Prix of the International Vladimir Krainev Young Pianists Competition (Ukraine) and was a student of Maestro Krainev. In 1998, at age 18, he was the First Prize Laureate of the Ninth Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, and was also voted “Audience Favourite”.

2011/12/13 Igor Tchetuev is the guest of the Mariinsky Orchestra under Valery Gergiev (Prokofiev 3 / Scriabin Concerto as part of the Festival “Stars at the White Nights”), Orchestre Pasdeloup in Salle Pleyel (Beethoven concerto n°3), Prague Symphony Orchestra (Beethoven 4 & Tchaikovsky n°1), Saint-Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra (Rachmaninov 2/Alexander Dimitriev) as part of the festival Arts Square in Saint-Petersburg, Scriabin Concerto as part of the Festival Stars on Baïkal, Ukraine Philharmonic Orchestra in Swiss tour with N. Dyadura, Orchestre National de Montpellier (Tchaikovsky n°1/Ari Rasilainen), Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille (Rachmaninov n°3/ Adrian Prabava), Orchestre de Pau (Rachmaninov 3/ Fayçal Karoui) in Pau and at the Folles Journées in Nantes, Bilbao, Tokyo.

He gives numerous recitals in France and Europe amongst which, at the Wigmore Hall, Festival de Menton, Husum Festival in Germany, at the Festival de Colmar, Chopin Festival Paris, Lisztomania Festival, the Montpellier Festival, Lille Piano Festival, and plays chamber music at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, also at the Wiener Philharmonie, Prague Rudolfinum, Mariinsky Theatre, Berlin Philharmonie, Scala di Milano, Wiener Staatsoper, etc. accompanying Ferruccio Furlanetto.

Igor Tchetuev has recently performed as piano soloist with Orchestre National de France, Mariinsky Orchestra, WDR Orchestra Köln, Halle Orchestra, Moscow Virtuosi, St Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, Polish National Orchestra, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, Bern Philharmonic, NDR Hanover, Santa Cecilia Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Dortmund Orchester, New Japan Philharmonic, Miami New World Symphony, Orchestre National de Lille, etc… under such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Neeme Järvi, Günther Herbig, Semyon Bychkov, Evgueni Svetlanov, Vladimir Spivakov, Marc Elder, Rafael Frubeck de Burgos, Maxim Vengerov, Alexander Dmitriev, Justus Franz, Maxim Shostakovich, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Maxim Vengerov, Vladimir Sirenko, Vladimir Vakoulsky and so on…

Each year Tchetuev gives a number of appearances in select events for instance, the Saint-Petersburg Festival, the Mariinsky Theatre, the Scala di Milano, the Wigmore Hall, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Festivalde Menton, the Colmar International Festival, the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, the Klavierfestival Ruhr, the Braunschweig Festival, Sintra Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Zino Francescatti, Paris, Louvre Auritorium, Festival Chopin Paris, Accademia Philharmonica Romana, Festival de Radio France et Montpellier not to mention the festival of La Roque d’Anthéron, where he appeared for an evening acclaimed recital (Chopin 24 Etudes).

Igor Tchetuev makes then regular recital tours in Europe and his recordings have received numerous awards and accolades: he recorded with the violinist Andrei Bielov all Prokofiev Sonatas for violin and piano for Naxos label. He also recorded a recital of “Romantic Etudes” with Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, Scriabin, with Tri-M Classic of Japan, the Three Chopin Sonatas for Orfeo in Germany which was applauded by critics (Le Monde de la Musique, Classica…), “Alfred Schnittke: Complete Piano Sonatas” (Caro Mitis, Russia) (Preis der Deutschen Schallplatten Kritik in Germany, R10 in Classica-Repertoire in France and a magnificent article in Gramophone Magazine) and his last recordings are the first three volumes of his Complete Beethoven Sonatas (Caro Mitis, Russia) with fabulous press critics.
